Take a trip back in time when the Clinton Historical Society presents a rare opportunity to tour the interior of a one-room Little Red Schoolhouse, built in the early 1800s, which remains in its original condition today. The one-room schoolhouse served Clinton's children of all ages for many years, and was also a gathering place for residents who celebrated the Fourth of July on the property.
On Saturday, October 19, the schoolhouse will be open for a one-day special event co-sponsored by the Clinton Historical Society and the Henry Carter Hull Library. As there is no parking permitted at the site, visitors will be shuttled on the Clinton Trolley from the library at 10 Killingworth Turnpike to the schoolhouse on Cow Hill Road. Light refreshments and a presentation about the history of the schoolhouse will be available in the library's Community Room as you await your trolley ride. The last trolley will leave the library at 12:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
