Mission of the Clinton Historical Society

The Clinton Historical Society preserves Clinton’s history in a collection of museums including our historic house museum, the 1750 Elisha White House known as “Old Brick.” We also maintain the George Flynn Library, the Buell Tool Museum, historic gardens, and the Museum Room in Clinton’s Town Hall. All are free and open to the public.

The mission of the Clinton Historical Society is to collect, organize, and preserve documents, photographs, and artifacts that relate to Clinton’s history; and to operate the Society’s museums, library, tool museum, grounds, and collections for the education and appreciation of current and future generations.

To serve the community, we offer a variety of educational programs, open houses, demonstrations, and interactive events throughout the year. We also sponsor two scholarships annually for graduating seniors.

Annual Events

Each year we host a variety of events, some ticketed and some free and open to the public. Among our most popular events are the Memorial Day Plant Sale, Members Garden Party, Smokehouse Tasting, and Holiday Luncheons & Dinners.

We offer two or three lectures or educational programs during the winter months on topics related to Clinton’s history. Check our EVENTS calendar for specific dates.
